The interview preparation starts when you have been scheduled for the interview. Here are 5 simple steps to prepare for interview and you will be ahead of the remaining 95%
Step 1 – Read the complete job description, make note of the key job responsibilities the company is asking for. If the role is asking for manage the systems or manage a team or to make creative content and so on… Pick these key points come up with you answers for each ask. By reading the job description thoroughly you are already ahead of many.
Most of them are lazy to read the JD completely and thoroughly to understand it. Just by reading the full JD and planning your answers your half battle is won. It goes without saying, that when you apply for the job, ensure your resume is in line with the JD and talks the same language as per the job description required.

Step 2- Research about the company. Know what the company is into, what they actually do, how does it solve the problem for the customers. Where is the head office, what is the revenue turnover. What products the company offers etc. You must get the opportunity to talk about the company, and if you are prepared with the details, it will surely impress the interviewer, they will see that you have taken time to prepare and gone the extra mile which counts, this is what matters. By doing this you show you care and you are serious.
Step 3- Prepare for the key interview questions. There are some key interview questions that will be asked in every interview. Ensure you remove time and prepare on how to answer these questions. - Tell me something about yourself?
- Why do you want to join this company?
- Why do you think we should hire you?
- Talk about your achievements?
- Conflict management, how to manage conflict?
- What is you salary expectations?
- Do you have any questions for us?
Step 4- Sound energetic and enthusiastic. If you practiced your speech and how you will deliver, you will sound very compelling and full of energy. This is what the interviewer is looking for. Don’t think about anything else for 24 hrs until the interview is over. By doing this you will fully into the rhythm and automatically you will sound energetic and enthusiastic without any effort.
Step 5- Summarize every answer in the end briefly. Maily after every answer summarize it with your contribution and the value it will bring in to improve and make the workplace, product or process better. Positive attitude is very important, ensure your answers are true, said with honesty and power.
